Hunting
The adventure of hunting is trying to get groceries on the table. Doesn't always happen, but the unknown and chase is worth it, the prey has a vote in the outcome. Sometimes you are butchering meat in the garage and sometimes you are going to Fred Meyer or Publix and buying it (still the cheapest way fiscally).
The smiles always tell the story.......long after the meat is consumed and the pain has healed, the stories ands memories will always bring smiles to the faces of those that experienced the wonders of hunting....There is no real magic meat machine!

Planning your dream hunting trip is not as overwhelming as you think it may be.
Most all of us have a dream hunt, some are pretty extreme, action packed and over the top. For some it may be in vast expanses, with chosen friends and the experience is the real objective. I really doesn't matter. There are certain fundamentals that can help you plan the trip to Alaska for Caribou, Colorado for Elk, Saskatchewan or Arkansas for Duck, Africa for Kudu or Gemsbuck. We all have limitations, either money, time, location....or/or not a kitchen pass. Don't listen to the naysayers, if you want to reach that objective, then you need to start somewhere, i tell everyone that the real start in in physical training. Why, for some this is the practice that is not involved in time or money (or a kitchen pass, but the kitchen pass giver may really like what benefits her/him in the process). Again, you control the time and cost variables...every trip you make, adds to your own personal database of experience and understanding of what is really involved in a hunt.

While we all want the big "Whatever it is", reality sets in and 10 years from now, you will remember the experience, people, weather, pain and and shared privation or celebration. The animal is a key piece, I can tell you from experience, I remember the trips, food, pain and laughter. That means more to me now, especially as I get older, then the kill. The chase is the biggest part. Mother Nature has a vote, the Animal has a vote, our money and time have a vote. Our job is to understand those issues and do the best we can...The one thing we have real vote in the preparation and execution of the hunt, is how in shape and prepared we are. Both physically and mentally.
The other part of the peroration is the mental game, your physical ability is part of challenge; the stronger, faster, smarter you are....understanding your past experiences and those that you have read, watchede, or listened to will give you an edge. Remender luck is when planning and opportunity meet.

Do you want to go down this path? Are you will to start changing dynamics and lifestyle to achieve dreams like this? It is in all of us. It won't be easy, there will be pain, embrace the suck and feel the discomfort.
If you have questions, send them to me, I can assist and give advice...but in the end you will feel the success and triumph when YOU do the work and get the job done. Pictures of some of this to follow!!
